As a first-generation college student who entered college later in life as a single-mom, my passion is education, especially for first-generation, economically disadvantaged, and single-parent students who want to go to college.
I have worked at the University of Washington's Office of Minority Affairs since 1990 when I graduated from the UW with a B.A. in English, a B.A. in History, and Secondary Education Academics completed for certification. My positions have included Academic Bridge Administrator, Instructor, and Trainer. My current position at the UW is the Curriculum Coordinator and Instructor/Trainer for TRIO Training, a federally funded program, in which we help TRIO staff across the nation integrate technology into the curriculum.
